Aiden's first theatrical experience was a great success. This musical, voted best of the Fringe (for kids) was a fun production starring Megan Tuck and produced Toronto Youth theatre.
The show is really aimed at somewhat older kids coming to terms with the fact that real life does not always offer the happy endings we have in our modern versions of fairy tales. However, on one hand, the lyrics are smarter than in many adult musicals and, on the other, three (and a half) year old Aiden sat rapt through the show bobbing along to the songs and clapping after each one, as well as at the curtain. So it definitely succeeds over a wide age range. (There was only one number where Aiden got squirmy and I agreed, it was the weakest part of the show. Three-year-olds are very honest critics!)
